Posters: Captain America, Avengers, & Cowboys & Aliens

Released today were a couple of Marvel Promo posters that feature a cool look at Captain America, and our first official look at The Avengers all together. There have been a few fan made posters released, but this is the first time it’s actually coming from Marvel. Now these are both hand drawn, so it’s not as epic as the team coming together for a photo shoot or anything, but still pretty cool.

First, here’s the poster for Captain America: The First Avenger drawn by Paolo Rivera that was made for the cast and crew. Only 100 were made, and only 5 will be given to the public.

It’s an awesome Retro look at Cap in one of his most classic poses, punching the crap out of Hitler. I love how it features The Howling Commandos, a very nice touch. It does make me think of The Rocketeer for some reason.

Next up is our first look at The Avengers from the 2011 Licensing International Expo:

Obviously this isn’t the best looking poster. I wouldn’t expect to see it in the theater, or used as a big seller for the film. But it does give us a taste of what it would be like to see the movie team in action. Not to mention interesting glimpses into Hawkeye’s costume and the look of the Hulk. Plus a look at what could be new armor for Iron Man and a new costume for Cap.

And finally, I’m including a rejected poster for Cowboys & Aliens, because it looks cool and it also gives us a sneak peek at the Aliens of the movie. It was drawn by poster artist Drew Struzan, and if his style looks familiar it’s because you’ve seen it before. Many times. Like on Indiana Jones posters, or even Star Wars. Hmmm, a lot of Harrison Ford posters, actually.

Very cool. My favorite is easily the Cap poster, and I really wish I could find a copy to sit next to some of my other favorite retro posters.
