Prometheus: New Poster and Trailers!

Not too long ago we took a look at Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, a sci-fi prequel to Alien that looks to be quite epic. Of course, looks isn’t exactly the right word as we haven’t seen anything besides a few Hi-Res images which you can check out here.

But it looks like the time has come and we will start to see more and more from this flick in the next little while. The first news to drop was a new poster, that works with a lot of the images we have already seen. Here’s the poster from CinemaBlend:

Pretty cool while still being really vague. Then a couple of videos came out teasing the teaser trailer. So I’m left thinking its got to be a pretty epic trailer if it needs a trailer itself right? Anyways, here’s the first preview for the trailer:

And here’s the second:

Very cool. It leaves us wanting more, and that always makes me upset that I have to wait. Oh, what’s that? This is the internet? Right, right, the trailer was leaked. Guess you can check that out below as well thanks to GammaSquad:

Okay, yea, that was kind of epic. Still vague as hell and can’t really discern a whole lot of info regarding the plot, besides what they keep hammering in to us about the beginning and the end and stuff.

And for those holding out hope to see the Xenomorph in Prometheus, you can stop now. Ridley Scott revealed where this film stands in the Alien galaxy. CinemaBlend reports:

Here’s what he had to say when asked directly if we would again see the xenomorph in the film:

No. Absolutely not. They squeezed it dry. He (the xenomorph) did very well. (He laughs) He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!

He went on to repeat what he’s often said about the way the movie will tie in to the Alien universe:

There’s a quote I did, a pretty good quote: By the end of the third act you start to realize there’s a DNA of the very first Alien, but none of the subsequent aliens. To tell you what that is is a pity, and I’m not going to tell you, because it’s actually pretty good, pretty organic to the process and to the original. But we go back, we don’t go forward.

Sounds good to me. I mean the Alien vs. Predator series kind of killed it for me, so I’m looking forward to Prometheus in a big way. Keep checking back here for updates as I will be sure to keep you posted on all Prometheus news.

Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, and Logan Marshall-Green and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 8th, 2012.

  1. Note how really vague Scott’s comment is about if we’ll see a Xenomorph or not, i think he’s just stepping around it.
To have noticeable “ALIEN” DNA in the movie, he’d have to at least give us Eggs or Facehuggers.

    My bet is on Eggs.
