It seems like only 8 years ago, people were watching and being disappointed by the movie Van Helsing, starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. Now if you’re thinking to yourself, “Man, isn’t it time they remake that film?” then I have to ask, what the hell is wrong with you? But according to the boys over at FilmDrunk, that’s exactly what is happening. Ait get’s better folks, Tom Cruise is said to be attached to this remake.
Now I know what you’re thinking:
“But Maullace, Tom Cruise isn’t all terrible. Yeah, he had that crazy couch thing, and has that Scientology nonsense, but he was hilarious in Tropic Thunder, and the new Mission: Impossible was pretty good.”
Which is where I tell you Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are set to write this remake. Now if you look at their track record, with flicks such as Transformers 1 & 2, the J.J Abrams’ Star Trek, and Mission Impossible 3, it’s a hit or miss situation.
Now, just based on those key players it’s hard to gauge how this will turn out. It’s kind of a crap shoot, but if I were a betting man I’d put my money on it not being very good. I feel they are obviously trying to cash in on the popularity of Vampires at the moment… wait a minute. I remember Tom Cruise being in another vampire movie…
Here’s a clip of a piece of a Vampire project I’d love to see made
