As we have previously reported, and despite outside reports to the contrary, Peggy Carter will be following in a Marvel tradition nearly as well established as their end credit scenes. She is getting her own Marvel One-Shot, Agent Carter, to be included on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray and DVD.
Agent Carter will feature Hayley Atwell’s British operative Peggy Carter, following the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, and has now been recruited by the newly formed S.H.I.E.L.D. The official synopsis reveals that Carters first task is to search “for the enigmatic Zodiac key.” Carter also has to face up against her “sexist, bureaucratic boss, Agent Flynn (The West Wing’s Bradley Whitford), who thinks women have no place in the secret-agent business.”
Agent Carter co-stars Dominic Cooper reprising his role as Howard Stark from Captain America: First Avenger, and is the fourth instalment in the Marvel One-Shot Short Film Series. This is the second clip to be released promoting Agent Carter, which like all the other Marvel One-Shots, exists within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While not adding much in terms of story, so far the one-shots have been fun little pieces that have helped expand the Marvel cinematic Universe. They serve to help the audience appreciate that this cinematic world has much more going on in it than just the subjects of the main feature films and add depth to characters.
Iron Man 3 will be released on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 24th in the US and September the 9th in the UK.
