Alexandra Breckenridge Joins Season Five Of The Walking Dead

American Horror Story alum Alexandra Breckenridge has joined season five of the hit zombie drama, The Walking Dead.

Breckenridge appeared in the first and third seasons of the hit FX horror drama American Horror Story and now she’s opted to appear in another hit horror series, but who exactly will she play? The casting breakdown described the role of “Samantha” as an attractive, strong, smart, charming and articulate woman with a vulnerable side. She’s a mother with a bohemian spirit and a talented artist. The Walking Dead has, in the past, used fake names to prevent information leaks and with no character named Samantha in The Walking Dead comic books or video games, AMC could just be using the name as a placeholder for the time being.

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple said of season five that:

“Even though they’re on the road, there’s going to be a wide variety of locations this year. When they are on the road, we will see the whole swath of life. There will be rural and there will be suburban and there’ll be urban and everything in between.”

The progression of the comics would lead most fans / readers to believe that the group will hit the Alexandira Safe-Zone. A community in which the group has taken up residence longer than any setting before it (that’s right, if you loved the Prison get ready for the group to stick it out in some place even longer).

The series currently features 17 series regulars (currently, its most ever) and recently added Go On alum Tyler James Williams in a mysterious role as Noah. Also factoring into the mix is Lennie James’ Morgan, who made a surprise appearance in the post-credits scene during the season five premiere. The Wire alum and new series regular Seth Gilliam, who plays Father Gabriel and made his debut during last Sunday’s episode.
