Welcome back to the Hero Express! It’s been a minute since we’ve gathered together to go over the latest crop of comic book-related movie news, but there couldn’t be a better time for the Hero Express, so let’s jump right into it.
Daredevil
Tonight marks the night a lot of us have been waiting quite a while for, as Marvel’s Daredevil in its entirety hits Netflix. So what do we have to talk about with the series just about to air? How about our first look at Charlie Cox in the red Daredevil costume? I thought that might interest you. The reveal came to us first as a leak, but Marvel quickly released the motion poster via social media, which you can see below:

Here are a few character posters to keep you excited for midnight tonight, as well as the latest trailers:
The song from the first trailer was also recently released on ComicBook.com and can be heard below:
Suicide Squad
We’ve heard a ton of casting news over the last few weeks as David Ayer’s Suicide Squad continues to build its team, and thankfully they released a cast pic of (almost) the whole crew assembled together!

In the photo we see Ayers along with Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) along with some new faces. The new additions are Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach, Jim Parrack, Ike Barinholtz, and Karen Fukuhara who are rumored to play El Diablo, Ravan, a young Deathstroke, Hugo Strange, and Plastique, respectively. A noticeable absence is Jared Leto, whose hype as the Joker has been building since he was first cast.
Fantastic Four
After a few leaked images and some shadowed shots, we finally got our first official look at the Thing, from Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four. Jamie Bell plays Ben Grimm, though I’m not seeing too much of him yet, hopefully when we see it in action the mo-cap will showcase him a bit more.
Also release were new shots of the four prior to their transformation on one of the team’s expeditions we saw in the trailer…
Along with a look at Miles Teller’s Reed Richards experimenting with his new abilities.
Our excitement keeps building the more we see of this, and Thing looks pretty good, especially when compared to the less than stellar leaked images we’ve seen.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
With less than a month until the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, a few new images have been released that reveals our best look yet at Paul Bettany’s Vision. The first comes to us from Entertainment Weekly as a series of interlocking covers, similar to what they did for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The image is reminiscent of the iconic cover to X-Men #1, and features another great shot of the team working together against the incredibly menacing Ultron. And finally getting his own character poster is the Vision, which fully reveals the Vision after months of teaser shots.
With the importance placed on certain gems or stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it might be important to note the yellow gem at the center of Vision’s forehead. We don’t quite know how his creation will be tied into Ultron or if the film will feature any infinity stones, but we could be seeing our first glimpse of the Soul Gem. Or not…
X-Men: Apocalypse
We have finally received official confirmation that the recently cast Ben Hardy will be playing Angel in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. This almost gives us a full complement of original X-Men in the film (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, and Angel, with only Iceman not returning., which will be the best we can hope for. This was confirmed by Brian Singer on social medial along with some concept art depicting Angel after his transformation at the hands of apocalypse.
Every piece of concept art we see come out of this film has gotten us talking here at the GB office, and we can’t wait to start seeing these ideas realized with the actors.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Finally, this is a bit of older news, but we have to mention that Arrow‘s Stephen Amell has joined the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as fan favorite Casey Jones. Whatever your feelings about the first film or the series future in general, it will be nice to see Casey back on the big screen.
That’s all for this week! We’ll see you next time on the Hero Express!
