Kingsman: The Secret Service, Sequel to Begin Filming in March

When Fox brought Kingsman: The Secret Service to Comic-con last year I had no idea what to expect. I knew it was a comic and… that’s it. That’s all I knew about it. And for better or for worse, that’s more than most people knew about it. Then the cast walked out, and the director, and suddenly the crowd was roaring with excitement. We all sat on the edge of our seats when the footage ran and it did not disappoint.

Fast forward about half a year later to February 2015 and we have one of the best action/spy films in a decade. Kingsman: The Secret Service has every spy aspect that you could ever ask for: awesome gadgets, tons of badass action, and a great villain. Additionally, it has laugh out loud humor. Not to mention Colin Firth in a suit, which for some reason, is attractive to every generation. It’s no wonder that production for its sequel is already in the works and filming is said to begin in March of 2016.

So far, we know Harry Hart (Colin Firth) will be returning even after his “death” in the first installment. Obviously there is no word on how that will happen, not that they would tell us, but it seems like they are still working that curveball out. Recently Mark Millar, the author of the comic spoke about the production:

“Because part of what made that movie work was Colin [Firth]. Colin’s fantastic! But you also want the integrity of the story, so if you are bringing him back it needs to make sense. That’s where it is at the moment. Bits of the story have been done. Matthew [Vaughn] and Jane [Goldman] are working on it at the moment. Bits have been done, some things need to be worked out, some decisions are still to be made. It’s all fairly amorphous, but all going well. We’re hoping to be shooting in Easter.”

Harry was my favorite in the film, though not by a long shot as everyone in the film was fantastic. And Director Mathew Vaughn is a master of comic book adaptations. From Kick-Ass to X-Men: First Class, and now Kingsman: The Secret Service, Vaughn has really set the bar high for what comic book movies should be. I am extremely excited for the sequel since Kingsman: The Secret Service was probably my favorite film of the year.

What do you guys think? Are you as excited as I am? Keep up with Grizzly Bomb for on-going news on the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service!
