MCU fans have been desperately waiting for any promotion for the new Captain America: Civil War movie, set to release in May of next year. When I say desperate, I really do mean desperate. Since D23, Disney and Marvel have kept the trailer on lockdown like it was the Manhattan Project and this was 1942. So understandably, anything “leaked” or released is Christmas for any MCU fan.
Recently some promotional images showed up and now the rest of that promo campaign has made its way online. The images feature art for Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), a character that the MCU hasn’t seen yet, and War Machine (Don Cheadle). Both are set to appear in Civil War, and Black Panther is scheduled to have his own stand alone movie in 2018. These images were then followed up by promo art for Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), and Ant-Man. Check them out below.
While we’ve all been waiting for the trailer, we’ve all squeezed just about as much information out of the film as we can. The plot centers around a superhero registration act that requires all superheroes to report themselves to the government. Iron Man is for it, after the events of Age of Ultron, and Captain America is a little more wary of becoming a pawn in the government’s army again. Here are the original promo images that let us know who’s on which side.
Team Cap has got: Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Agent 13, Falcon w/ Redwing, and the Winter Soldier. And on Team Iron Man we have: War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther and Vision. Not-pictured, new Spider-man Tom Holland.
While all these promo images are all fine and dandy, it’s about time we get a trailer. D23 was 2 months ago and they proved that they can keep a secret. May 2016 is coming and we need more than just pictures! Marvel I’m talking directly to you.
Keep checking back for news on Captain America: Civil War, we’ll definitely have the trailer up the minute it gets released!
