Well John wasn’t exactly the Boogeyman, he was the one you send to kill the fucking Boogeyman.
Last year Keanu Reeves released his best movie in a very long time. It was the story of a retired hitman named John Wick. The movie opened up with the tragic passing of his wife, and his bonding with a puppy. But before you know it, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) murders said puppy and John goes on an epic killing spree to avenge an innocent dog and the memory of his wife. It was easily among the most entertaining movies of the year, and now Mr. Wick is back.
In addition to Keanu returning, some other familiar faces from the first movie are set to reappear as well. Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Lance Reddick, Thomas Sadoski and John Leguizamo have all been confirmed for the sequel.
Leguizamo should be known to most, as he’s been such classics as Super Mario Bros. and Die Hard 2. He was also in the much underrated Carlito’s Way opposite Al Pacino. Sadowki, Reddick, and McShane (Hot Rod) all gained notoriety on HBO staring in The Newsroom, The Wire, and Deadwood respectively. And Bridget Moynahan currently stars on the CBS cop drama Blue Bloods. Joining that rather impressive list are newcomers Common (Hell on Wheels), Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black), and Peter Stormare from Fargo, Armegeddon,The Big Lebowski and one of the best damn video game commercials of all time.
We don’t know too much about the plot thus far, but we do know that Common’s role is described as “the movie’s chief villain, a head of security for a female crime lord.”
Keanu Reeves recently spoke with Collider about the upcoming sequel, here are a few snipets;
“Chad and the writer, Derek Kolstad, they’ve really listened to what people have enjoyed about the work and how they speak about it. So there’s definitely that influence of the other world, the Continental world, the look, the feel, what it is about the movie, what made people like it; is definitely being paid attention to and the world opens up in this chapter.”
“We’re gonna do the same kind of thing in the sense of — what are the guiding principles? So it’s longer takes, know where you are on the space, who’s doing what, action with consequence. And then going to other levels of what the gun-Fu was, which was Jujitsu and Judo mixed with weapons and different styles of weapon training.”
“I’m interested in what happens to the guy and in this world. So when we were speaking about it, obviously it did well enough for the investors to want to do another one, which is cool, and it’s great to have the opportunity to further the story. But we had to come up with a reason why, and we came up with a reason that was good enough, that didn’t suck, and we’re just trying to make it better and better. In terms of a franchise, I don’t know, until you do it and it’s done, you don’t know, because it’s not source material, this is original goodness.”

No word on any doggy deaths, but some shots taken from set do show a new canine friend in the least.
