Orphan Black Season 4 Teaser: But Where’s Delphine?

If Orphan Black succeeds at nothing else, it is incredibly good at toying with our emotions. And this Season 4 teaser is no exception. But we’ll get to that in a minute.

First, season 3 brought plenty of “wtf” moments…

  • A talking scorpion
  • Castor
  • Mrs S’s mom!
  • Paul. (:sob: RIP Paul. And your beautiful abs.)
  • Helena’s eating habits. Mustard and sardines – enough said.
  • “It wasn’t Beth that I loved.”
  • Allison as a drug dealer.
  • Donnie as a drug dealer.
  • Felix as straight.
  • Allison and Donnie becoming #relationshipgoals.
  • We actually might have felt badly for Rachel?
  • Pencil through the eye.
  • Krystal and her amazing push up bra. (okay, not so much wtf as it was a “thank you.”)

But I think we can all agree that the most wtf worthy occurred moments after one we’d been waiting one for a while.

Now, this is Orphan Black so someone being shot doesn’t really mean that they are dead forever. However, the powers that be are currently staying mum about the fate of our favorite blond scientist.

Instead, they release the following teaser for season 4 which offers almost no clues as to what is coming.

Whose eye is that? Can it be Rachel’s? She had the new eye put in, could it also have a go-go Gadget camera option? Was Delphine shot so someone (Castor, Topside, Dyad, another entity to be introduced this season?) could implant her with a camera eye? Is this another clone we’ve yet to meet that has been groomed since birth to record the actions of those around her and is now going to be introduced to the Clone Club?

The questions are endless, and of course BBC America is offering little in form of answers, but their season 4 description does make it sound like there will be another “big bad” this season.

“Season four of the drama will see leader-of-the-pack, Sarah, reluctantly return home from her Icelandic hideout to track down an elusive and mysterious ally tied to the clone who started it all – Beth Childs. Sarah will follow Beth’s footsteps into a dangerous relationship with a potent new enemy, heading in a horrifying new direction. Under constant pressure to protect the sisterhood and keep everyone safe, Sarah’s old habits begin to resurface. As the close-knit sisters are pulled in disparate directions, Sarah finds herself estranged from the loving relationships that changed her for the better.”

So… a return to Beth Childs. Fingers crossed this means flashbacks with Paul. However, as great as that would be, I think we all can agree, this is what we are wanting more of.
