In a surprise to a lot of people, Marvel and Disney released the official trailer for Avengers: Endgame, giving us our biggest look yet at the most anticipated film of the year. Our surviving heroes — Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, War Machine, Thor, Nebula, Rocket, and Ant-Man — gear up for battle against Thanos and they happen to be joined by a now, newly familiar face.
A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

While the previous trailer showed off the aftermath of Thanos’ attack, this one focuses on our heroes, showing poignant flashbacks in black and white (with touches of Marvel red) as they reminisce over their loved and lost ones. The trailer really amps up the motivation for the Avengers to take the battle to Thanos (with brand new costumes to boot!), and do what they do best, Avenge. Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel makes her Avengers debut (not counting a little mid-credit stinger at the end of her solo film). In the last moments of the trailer, right after the title runs, she and Thor have a staredown. “I like this one,” Thor declares. We’re into it too, Thor.
We saw a lot of beloved and important characters turn to ash during the final moments of Avengers: Infinity War, including Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Groot (Vin Diesel), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementief), Drax (Dave Bautista), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Peter Parker (Tom Holland), as well as Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily), and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury also bit the dust but not before getting a signal through to Larson’s Captain Marvel. No word yet on if the film will bring a lot of these characters back, but we have a pretty good idea we will be seeing some of them for years to come.
Marvel also released a brand new, and at this point, probably official poster for the film. One side-note, why is Danai Gurira the only one not credited on the poster?
Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on April 26, 2019.
