. . . There is no such thing as an ordinary interaction.
Netflix has released the trailer for upcoming sketch comedy series I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson. In this new sketch show, former co-star of the recently (and devastatingly) canceled Detroiters, Tim Robinson, along with guests, spend each segment driving someone to the point of needing — or desperately wanting — to leave.
Check out the trailer for I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson which also includes Will Forte, Cecily Strong, Andy Samberg, Vanessa Bayer, Tim Heidecker, Patti Harrison, Brandon Wardell, and Conner O’Malley, among others:
The trailer shows off the insanity that the show is aiming for. It’s already streaming on Netflix and is just as wild and irreverently inventive as you might think coming from the creator of Detroiters. Each skit takes an unexpected turn toward the absurd, like when a crowd at a “Baby of the Year” competition hurls obscenities at one of the contestants, or when a guest at a birthday party causes chaos over a gift receipt. Not only is it a sketch comedy series, but the cast seems chock-full of SNL alums and guest stars including fellow Detroiters star Sam Richardson, as well as Steven Yeun, who appears to be in everything as of late.
Robinson’s brand of comedy comes across best when it’s played for crazed commitment. It’s not for everyone but it’s obvious that his goodwill with both SNL and his work elsewhere such as the all-too-short-lived Detroiters. Ever since Comedy Central’s Detroiters was canceled after two seasons in 2018, the committed gags and heartfelt friendship between the two small-time Motor City ad men of Robinson and Richardson has been sorely missed. The show garnered numerous online petitions and calls to save it from the like of Seth Meyers but unfortunately, it didn’t change Comedy Central’s mind. So Robinson decided to move on. I Think You Should Leave was created by Robinson and Zach Kanin, two of the co-creators of Detroiters and, prior to that, writers for SNL, of which Robinson was an on-air performer.
I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson is on Netflix right now, so get watchin’.
