Written and directed by American horror filmmaker/musician Rob Zombie, 3 From Hell is the next blood-soaked chapter in the blood-soaked saga of the Firefly family.
The film’s official trailer was promised by Zombie last week, after a shorter teaser which left much to be desired. Running at just under two minutes of brand new footage, the trailer reveals a bit of the film’s plot. It is confirmed that it will be centered around the three main antagonists of the previous films, and directly after the events of The Devil’s Rejects, with Otis, Baby and Spaulding somehow managing to survive a hail of bullets. After their “satanic recovery” winds them behind bars, an inevitable escape unleashes the trio (joined by Richard Brake’s Foxy) to wreak carnage on the world yet again.

Captain Spaulding played by Sid Haig, Otis played by Bill Moseley, and Baby played by Sheri Moon Zombie will all be “returning from the dead in 3 From Hell, after being shot hundreds of times in the final moments of Rejects. In addition to Moon, Moseley, Richard Brake, and Haig, the cast also includes Danny Trejo, Kevin Jackson, Wade Williams, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Clint Howard, Pancho Moler, Emilio Rivera, Daniel Roebuck, David Ury, Sean Whalen, Austin Stoker, Dee Wallace, Bill Oberst Jr., Richard Riehle, Dot-Marie Jones and Tom Papa.
One thing this trailer does reveal is that the trio definitely ends up in Mexico. We get a little bit of cartel action between cops and Federales on the tail of the psycho family. That typical Zombie-horror of sadistic and brutal moments of violence seems present too. Otis is seen pistol-whipping some poor soul to death while Brake’s Foxy looks on with glee.
The film is having a sort of unorthodox release engagement. Lionsgate and Saban Films are unleashing 3 From Hell in nearly 900 select movie theaters only on September 16, 17 and 18, 2019 through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. Moviegoers will see a special video introduction from Rob Zombie with the first 50 attendees at each theater receiving an exclusive poster (while supplies last). On September 17, “audiences will be treated to a nearly 30-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.” And finally, on September 18, audiences will be shown a double feature of The Devil’s Rejects and 3 From Hell.
