Extraction Trailer: Chris Hemsworth Goes Full Dad Rock In New Netflix Action FIlm

Netflix has launched the first official trailer for the kidnapping rescue action thriller is the directorial feature debut of Marvel Cinematic Universe stunt coordinator and actor Sam Hargrave.

Extraction stars Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a black market mercenary who is thrust into the middle of a stand-off between the biggest drug lord in India and the biggest drug lord in Bangladesh when he’s recruited to rescue Ovi, the kidnapped son of one of the kingpins. But while Rake is able to retrieve Ovi from his captors, keeping him alive proves to be a different matter entirely.

Check out the trailer for Extraction below:

Hemsworth gets bruised and bloodied in this one. Appearing as an action hero of vulnerability, even if he’s leaping from impossibly high heights into unknown waters. The trailer makes the film look pretty decent, if not giving a little too much away.

Extraction also stars David Harbour, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi, and Priyanshu Painyuli. The film was produced by Avengers duo Joe and Anthony Russo, while Joe Russo wrote the screenplay.

The Russo brothers previously directed four Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War, and Captain America: Civil War and The Winter Soldier, bringing an already established action pedigree to the new Netflix movie. Their next post-MCU film will be the Tom Holland headliner Cherry, about an army medic with PTSD whose trauma turns him into a drug-addicted serial criminal (y’know, real Spider-Man behavior).

Hemsworth, on the other hand, has the MCU animated series What If…? coming up as well as his physical return as Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. Additionally, Hemsworth is starring in the recently announced Hulk Hogan biopic, which will hopefully resume production whenever Hollywood opens back up for business.

Netflix will debut Hargrave’s Extraction streaming exclusively starting on April 24th this month.
