4Digital Media has unveiled an official trailer for a crazy low budget horror film from Welsh director Lawrence Fowler. Yes. There is a clown.
When a museum is donated a vintage Jack-In-The-Box, it’s not long before staff member Casey starts to think that the creepy clown doll inside has a life of its own. As he discovers his colleagues are dying, one by one, Casey realizes it’s up to him to find a way to end the nightmare or become another victim of the box’s curse.
Check out the trailer for The Jack in the Box below:
The Jack in the Box stars Ethan Taylor, Robert Nairne, Lucy-Jane Quinlan, Philip Ridout, and Darrie Gardner.
Fowler’s horror flick is being described as “a heart-stopping horror that will fuel your fear of clowns.” That’d be all well and good if we didn’t just get a plethora of killer clowns in the form of two massive It movies based on Stephen King’s classic novel. However, killer clowns are almost always a hit with both genre fans and audiences at large. The film hasn’t really been gaining much buzz since hitting a couple of genre film festivals, but given we’re all stuck indoors and looking for something to do this doesn’t seem like the most pointless thing to watch. Judging by the trailer, at least he film is blending some puzzle-box horror in the vein of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser with some stalking monster goodness.
The Jack in the Box is both written and directed by Welsh filmmaker Lawrence Fowler, his second feature film after Curse of the Witch’s Doll as well as a few other short films. The horror film initially premiered at the British Horror Film Festival last year but now 4Digital Media will release Fowler’s The Jack in the Box direct-to-DVD/VOD starting in early May.
