Netflix’s reboot of the beloved 1980s cartoon will be released later this July, but the first trailer is already out for Masters of the Universe: Revelation!
The war for Eternia culminates in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.

It’s a pretty damn good trailer! On top of everything else, the voice cast for the five-episode series is star-packed. Masters of the Universe: Revelation features Chris Wood (Prince Adam / He-Man), Mark Hamill (Skeletor), Henry Rollins (Tri-Klops), Alicia Silverstone (Queen Marlena), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Teela), Stephen Root (Cringer), and Alan Oppenheimer, the original voice of Skeletor who plays Moss Man in the new series. And that’s just the principal cast, this series also has Jason Mewes, Justin Long, Tony Todd, and the iconic voice of Batman himself, Kevin Conroy on board as various members of Eternia.
This iteration of Masters of the Universe comes from Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy) who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series, produced by Mattel Television, is written by Marc Bernardin (Castle Rock, Alphas), Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Diya Mishra (Magic the Gathering), and Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen).
Susan Corbin produces, she previously was one of the producers behind the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe TV series. Executive producers also include Frederic Soulie (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe), Adam Bonnett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Justice League, Batman Beyond), and Rob David (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe).
Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) is aboard as composer, with animation for the series done by Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania). All in all, this is both a stacked cast and absolute storied pros of animation behind the scenes as well.
