Mortal Kombat Creator Could Create Horror Icons Video Game

Horror movie characters like Freddy, Jason and the rest have managed to span numerous genres, not just the cinematic universes they were originally born into.

Jason Voorhees for example has his own video game currently in the works, plus old Spectrum and NES games from the 1980s, as well as a board game (called Last Friday) inspired by his murderous antics. And he is not alone.

Is Dredd 2 Ever Going To Happen? The Facts So Far.

Judge Dredd is a staple of the British comic industry. His exploits have been documented in a fantastic story arc, with Dredd getting older through each issue and his view points changing throughout the comic book series.

So it is not surprising that this wealth of Mega-City 1 history would eventually be mined for the big screen.

Scream Factory Celebrates Anniversary With Deluxe Release Of The Thing

Man Is The Warmest Place To Hide

It is with this tag-line, and a truly inspired piece of poster art that John Carpenter introduced the alien horror epic that is The Thing  back in 1982. Much like Labyrinth, this film failed to find its core audience during that initial theatrical run. Probably didn’t help it opened against Blade Runner, splitting the Sci-Fi crowd, and the fact that E.T. owned the box office for most of the year, winning the box office 16 of the first 26 weekends following its release. Still, The Thing has a strong cult following, and holds up well today with some amazing performances and stunning practical effects.

Film Imitating Film? Nicholas Winding Refn Compares Alien To Planet of the Vampires

Is Alien a rip off of the Mario Bava flick Planet of Vampires?

They say that life imitates art, but what happens when art imitates art? Well, sometimes lawsuits, but most of the time we see great homages to movie scenes taken from classic (and not so classic) films. This often gives the scenes new life in someone else’s vision.

Labyrinth The 30th Anniversary – All You Need To Know

This year we lost the pop culture icon that was David Bowie. People will have celebrated his life in many different ways, from his music, right through to his film career. For me however, remembering Bowie meant delving once again into one of my all-time favorite films, Labyrinth.

Nathan Fillion to Appear In Guardians Of The Galaxy 2?

Oh Marvel Entertainment, you do seem to have a knack for casting.

Chris Pratt is one example of this. He perfectly encapsulates the cocky and slightly stupid character that is the almighty StarLord. Once you see Pratt in that role it really is hard to even imagine anyone else portraying that character.

Pratt and his amazing castmates, as well as some sharp writing and great direction made Guardians of the Galaxy a huge success, and Marvel will be hoping that Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (which is currently filming at the moment) will be just as big a hit. Director James Gunn does not look like he is going to disappoint either. Gunn recently made a casting decision that, if nothing else, will make a majority of fandom fans insanely happy.
