Bruce Willis SNL Promos: Have Harmonica, Will Travel

After two big names in Tina Fey and Miley Cyrus, one of the biggest names in action movies is headed to Rockefeller Center for SNL this weekend. That’s right, Bruce Willis, Mr. Die Hard himself, will be returning to the Studio 8H stage!

As is customary, he filmed his promos for this weekend’s show but there was a new face in the promos this week. None other than Weekend Update anchor, Cecily Strong! Good for her, it’s nice to see one of the new-ish cast members get some promo time.

While some people (Kronner) are still feeling a little at odds with Bruce Willis over his latest Die Hard outing, there’s no denying he is a funny guy so this should be a fun show. Plus the musical guest is Katy Perry and if you need a reminder of her last visit to the show….

See you on Saturday SNL fans!

Sylvester Stallone Wants $400 for His Autograph at NYCC

Now this is an interesting piece of information. A bit ago Grizzly Bomb reported how Bruce Willis was doing action jobs just for cash. Fair enough there, it would be nice if he put some passion in his work but that’s just a personal request. Sylvester Stallone however was not too fond of his sparring partner’s love for cash and in another article when we talked how mad he got while casting for Expendables 3 recently.

 Sylvester Stallone

This is where the tale takes a turn for the worst because it has been confirmed recently that Stallone will be appearing at the New York Comic Con this year. Which has to be great news for fans, if it was not for the fact he wants them to pay up their hard earned money for the privilege and it is not cheap. It is $400 in fact, or $450 if you want a photo with the super star. The website Celebrity Authentics confirmed this with the statement featured below.

[box_light]Thank you for your interest in Celebrity Authentics and the talent we are bringing to the NYCC! Stallone with be at the show on Sunday only and doing autographs and photo ops that day. Autograph tickets are $395.00 and photo op tickets are $450.00. Tickets are limited to approximately 300 autographs and 150 photo ops. Chloe Mortez’s autograph tickets will cost $75.00 and photo ops will cost $95.00 each. We are unsure at this point if she will be there Saturday or Sunday. That will be confirmed soon and tickets will go on sale September 5th at 11:00am EST at http://www.celebrityauthenticstickets.com. Let us know if you have any other questions we can assist you with and we hope to see you in New York!”[/box_light]

Now there are numerous things you can say about this, but the main thing is the fact that it is a tad hypocritical to denounce Willis for money grabbing then charge so much yourself at a Comic Con. We are in a recession at the moment and many are suffering from financial difficulties, but even if times were better $400 smackers is a little bit too much to ask for a pose down with Rambo. Asking for money at conventions is not an uncommon practice, but it is normally for stars from a bygone era trying to make a bit of money for themselves, or retiring stars wanting to add to their pension. These people normally charge $30-$40 for this service, and you normally get a photo and a signature for that. Sure Sylvester Stallone is one of the biggest stars on the planet, and popularity wise outshines most of these other people, but also its not like he needs the money. He could make up to $186,000 from this if people pay.

With other conventions you get a nice and intimate meeting with the stars, sometimes rushed along if queues are long, but you feel like it was money well spent. For this amount of money fans are going to want a lot more and I doubt they are going to get it. There is a slim chance that Stallone knows nothing about this but I highly doubt it. He is a clever man and must see this as a possible cash cow situation. But who knows? It will be interesting to see how the session goes when he arrives at the NYCC this year.

Bruce Willis is Bored of Action Flicks…Starts Work on New Action Movie The Prince

Bruce Willis is bored. The man who made his name first in comedy, then used the action movie to propel himself into super-stardom. Recently however,  in an article with The Mirror newspaper (paraphrased by Slash Film) he expressed his thoughts on the genre.

’12 Monkeys’ Looks To Jump To Small Screen For SyFy

SyFy just got a little bit more…Science Fictiony. Anyways, remember that great, underrated Terry Gilliam movie 12 Monkeys? If not, go watch it, it’s pretty darn fantastic. If so, guess what? They want to make it a series and according to the Hollywood Reporter, SyFy has officially ordered a pilot for the movie turned television show to see if they can make it happen on the cable channel.

SyFy was actually initially thinking of throwing all the eggs into one basket and ordering the whole season but decided to see how the pilot works out first. The project initially was being developed about a month ago and apparently the pilot treatment came out so well that production will be ramping up to start filming by November. Behind it are producers Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, who helped produce the original film, as they made the pitch to the cable network and will be the executive producers behind the pilot. Nikita and Terra Nova writers Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett are writing the hour long pilot script as well.

SyFy has been jumping all over the original scripted series train after the success of the risky Defiance series. They also have pilot orders for High Noon from Pushing Daisies’ Bryan Fuller, Rewind and a series order for Helix, which will all launch in 2014. No word on the involvement from original collaborators and actors Terry Gilliam, Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt but considering it’s television, it’s very unlikely they they will be involved in a creative or acting capacity. No word either on what the plot would be but it’s an interesting concept and echoing one Brian Kronner in saying that the best television series are cable shows, the potential is definitely there for something riveting and thought provoking. Yes, even from the network that brought you Sharknado. Which was awesome so yes, the bar is high for 12 Monkeys.

Bruce Willis vs. Sylvester Stallone in Old Man Showdown

In this week’s “Old Man News” we have Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis. With a little Harrison Ford thrown in for good measure. Sylvester Stallone has this film franchise that he stars in, you might have heard of it – The Expendables? Yea, that one. Well Sly is currently gathering up people for the third incarnation of The Expendables and was in talks with Bruce Willis to return.

Apparently things didn’t go well as Stallone sent out these two tweets in short succession.

Looking past Stallone’s fangirling over Harrison Ford, what exactly happened?

Turns out, Bruce Willis had been offered $3 million for the third film and instead wanted $4 million. Well, from the outside looking it, it seems a little ridiculous to pass up a job over a million dollars but hey, it’s still a million dollars. But wait! That’s not the whole story.

Get this, Willis wanted $4 million for four days of work. FOUR DAYS! One million dollars for each day of work. That sound you are hearing is everyone in the known world rolling their eyes. Good riddance Mr. Willis.

Thankfully Sylvester Stallone had another guy in mind for the job. A man who has a source for The Hollywood Reporter said is “a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film.” That man is none other than Harrison Ford.

Harrison Ford

That isn’t the only Harrison Ford news of the week. Nope. Earlier in the week Ford was asked about a fifth Indiana Jones film.

[box_light]”To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened, and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.”[/box_light]
So he’s signed on for action film The Expendables 3, and he’s okay with another turn as Indiana Jones? Maybe 70 is the new 60 after all.

Die Hard 6: Die Hardest – Please Don’t Suck

Well, while most of us assumed that the mess that is A Good Day to Die Hard would be enough to put the once revered franchise out of its misery, it looks more like it’s gonna a X-Men 3 situation – they can’t end the franchise on that sour a note. Or that’s what I’d like to believe. Truth is despite bombing here in the states, the fifth Die Hard movie actually performed pretty well over seas, and that’s enough for FOX to move forward according to early reports.
