Just to let you know, there will be spoilers in this review – so be warned. We start in 1334, Egypt, with the Doctor getting a lot of attention from Queen Nefertiti after he has saved her kingdom. They both get whizzed off to a distress signal from Earth (2376) where a ship is on a collision course.

‘Doctor Who’ Documentaries on BBC America, Plus New Series News
New episodes of Doctor Who are not due until Autumn (boo!), but from BBC America (via Geek Exchange) comes news of four original documentaries due to air soon. Each covers a different subject important to the Doctor Who universe.
The Science of Doctor Who premiers on Saturday the 4th of August at 11:00pm (ET/PT). It explores the real life science behind the biggest concepts and most iconic ideas in the series.
The Women of Doctor Who premiers on Saturday the 11th of August at 9:00pm (ET/PT). It looks at the women who have passed through The Doctors life.
The Timey Wimey Stuff of Doctor Who premiers on Saturday the 18th of August at 11:00pm (ET/PT). It looks at the topsy-turvy confusing nature of time and time travel in the series.
The Destinations of Doctor Who premiers on Saturday the 25th of August at 9:00pm (ET/PT). It explores the myriad of places The Doctor has travelled to across time and space.
They all sound very interesting, and I am slightly narked that they are on BBC America. Hopefully they will show them over here in Blighty at some stage.
Elsewhere the BBC has announced the titles of the first three stories of the new series.
The series opening episode will be Asylum of The Daleks. It will, apparently, include every Dalek ever! Even including the Special Weapons Dalek. It will also feature the biggest set ever used on the show.
The second episode will be entitled Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. It will co-star Mark Williams (The Fast Show and the Harry Potter films) as Rory’s Dad, Brian, and Rupert Graves (Sherlock) as a big game hunter. It will also feature the second biggest set ever used on the show.
The third episode will be called A Town Called Mercy. This Western story – which was filmed in Spain earlier in the year – will co-star Ben Browder (Farscape and Stargate) and Adrian Scarborough (Psychoville and Gavin & Stacey).
Roll on Autumn.
Are You Ready For ‘Dinosaurs vs. Aliens’?
Mash ups in movies are not a new idea. Hell, they started back in the early 40’s when Abbott and Costello met Frankenstein, and Dracula was having a fist fight with the Wolfman.
But recently with the popularity of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and all those spin offs and movies such as Freddy vs. Jason and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer they seem to be all over the place! Well, here’s another one for you; Dinosaurs vs. Aliens. Film Drunk has footage of the upcoming work by comic legend Grant Morrison and Barry Sonnenfeld (of Men in Black fame) in this part trailer part commentary.
Now this looks pretty frikking cool! Sure there has now been an abundance of these types of movies but I just love them, I cannot get enough of them. The artwork involved in this is stunning. The aliens look a lot like the Matrix aliens with maybe a dash of District 9 thrown in there and the story seems like Battlefield Earth but with errrrr Dinosaurs! Who does not want to see that!
This was just for information on the motion comic but in these interviews from yahoo screen Grant also says he is penning the comic and movie and it will be a whopping three parts!
While Zimbio.com had this information on the graphic novel publication and artwork to boot.
From the minds of acclaimed filmmaker, Barry Sonnenfeld (Director of the “Men In Black” Films), and superstar graphic novel creator, Grant Morrison (Batman, The Invisibles, Action Comics, 18 Days), comes “Dinosaurs Vs. Aliens,” by Liquid Comics. The story focuses on a secret world war battle that was never recorded in our history books. When an alien invasion attacks Earth in the age of the dinosaurs, our planet’s only saviors are the savage prehistoric beasts which are much more intelligent than humanity has ever imagined.
So hopefully you are not sick of these combo movies yet as there is plenty more to come from Grant and Barry!
TERRA NOVA is Going to Crash Your Par-Tay This Fall!
During the Superbowl, I was very unimpressed with the movie previews we were treated to during the commercial breaks. Captain America seemed to be the only one that really stood out, but that was a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ affair. But there was a TV preview that looked exceptional, it was called Terra Nova.
At first glance it looked like a movie, and being it was produced by Steven Spielberg you can’t help but think it’s going to be an instant hit. Initially I was surprised to see it was made for TV and not a major theater release. And I’m fine with it being on TV so as long as the production value is top-notch and there is a good cast.
The production value will remain to be seen past the trailer, but the quality cast is already evident upon seeing THE Stephen Lang, whom many know as ‘Colonel Quaritch’ from James Cameron’s Avatar. Here at Grizzly Bomb though, he is honorably known as the Party Crasher!
The story of Terra Nova revolves around a family living on Earth in the year 2149. The Earth at this point is a dying planet due to war, pollution and Justin Bieber overload.

A family, the Shannons, are then transported back in time 85 million years to the prehistoric era when dinosaurs roamed the earth. There they find themselves among a colony of humans called Terra Nova.
The Superbowl trailer teased not only with the show but also a sneak preview in May. However, according to an article at IGN the show will not be seen at all until fall this year. Not even a preview due to the effects not being finished. As much as I want to see Stephen Lang crashing a dinosaur’s par-tay, it would be best if they didn’t present us a preview with half-assed effects, that would just kill it for us.
But have no fear, if you’re in need of a Party Crasher fix, he will be with us soon enough in August when he destroys Conan the Barbarian!
