Starz Drops Trailer for American Gods Season 2

In 2017, Starz dropped one of the stranger shows on television when they premiered American Gods, based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. In the series, the gods of the old world are fading and largely forgotten, and they plan to change that by taking power back from the new gods  like Media, Technical Boy, and the god of globalization, Mr. World.

John Wick is Back With A New Trailer for Chapter 3: Parabellum

If you want peace, prepare for war.

When the first John Wick movie dropped back in 2014, it became an instant classic, and that’s not an easy feat to accomplish. Keanu Reeves though has done it three times already. In 1994 with Speed, again in 1999 with The Matrix, and finally with Mr. Wick.  These are films that audiences connected with immediately. And in the age before internet memes, quotability was the standard, and few movies not staring Jim Carrey or Mike Meyers were quoted or spoofed as often – Pop Quiz Hot Shot!

American Gods Assembling Impressive Cast List

A lot has changed since we last talked about the television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods

So way back in 2011, when news broke of Gaiman’s novel heading to TV screens everywhere, the story involved the need to write more books, six seasons worth of show, and you needing an HBO subscription. In the years to follow HBO brought in several writers to adapt the project, before eventually abandoning it in 2014. In 2015, Starz announced that they had now picked up the rights and would have the first season out sometime next year. In charge of things are co-showrunners Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and Michael Green (Heroes).

John Wick 2 Announces Multiple Castings, Release First Images

Well John wasn’t exactly the Boogeyman, he was the one you send to kill the fucking Boogeyman.

Last year Keanu Reeves released his best movie in a very long time. It was the story of a retired hitman named John Wick. The movie opened up with the tragic passing of his wife, and his bonding with a puppy. But before you know it, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) murders said puppy and John goes on an epic killing spree to avenge an innocent dog and the memory of his wife. It was easily among the most entertaining movies of the year, and now Mr. Wick is back.

Slimmest of Possibilities; Rumors Swirl Around Deadwood Movie

From 2004-2006 HBO ran one of the best shows in the premium network’s history. That show was Deadwood, and it told a story of early South Dakota, and how a mining camp became a city. The story was told with a Shakespearean poetry to the dialogue, spoken by colorful characters and boasting a cast of extremely talented actors.  But the story wasn’t cheap to tell, costing HBO about $5 million an episode to produce, and failed to get the kind of ratings that they saw with The Sopranos, so despite an excellently crafted and incredibly intense end to season three, the show was canceled.

Ian McShane Heading to Westeros for Season 6

One of the single greatest characters in the history of HBO was Deadwood‘s Al Swearengen. He was a foul-mouthed, quick thinking, manipulative bastard- and we loved him. Swearengen was played brilliantly by English actor Ian McShane, and stole every scene he was in. Now McShane is heading back to HBO, this time for Game of Thrones.

John Wick: A Review of Revenge Incarnate

John Wick‬ is the revenge movie we all hoped it would be. Straight forward without distraction of unneeded twist, nor neutered to avoid the ®. The action choreography flows with the soundtrack. The cars are classic, the women are fast, the fights are brutal, and feel is…familiar- in a comforting way. Twinges of 1970s grit and old school code combine with a rapidly paced 101-minute orchestra of ‘cool.’  1994, 1999, and now 2014. Welcome back Keanu.
