New Movies Get A Retro Spin With These Awesome VHS Cover Sleeves

Last year we had some pretty fun retro based movies come our way. Mad Max: Fury Road gave us some awesome action (mostly) without the use of today’s CGI effects, while Turbo Kid had splatter gore lovingly thrown into a great 80s techno-scored storyline. But is there any way these throwback themed movies could get more retro? How about having specially made VHS covers for them? I think that would do it.

2016 Academy Award Nominations Are Out & I’m Not…Unhappy…I Think

The 2016 Academy Award Nominations came out and unlike previous years, I’m not sure how to react. Over the years, there’s always snubs and disappointments and that comes with any awards but this year seems different. While there are still questionable decisions, it seems that, dare I say it, the Academy might have actually gotten (most of it) right.

The Revenant is the big winner (if there ever could be one) today, leading the way with 12 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. This was not a shock considering it’s been one long awards circuit gushing over the movie. That and no one tries to mess with the movie with a giant bear. Close behind is a great surprise with Mad Max: Fury Road earning 10 nominations. While it has been getting great press and was arguably the best movie of the summer, blockbusters never typically get recognized on this big of scale, especially in the Best Picture category (see: The Dark Knight). The Martian follows with seven nominations, despite director Ridley Scott not snagging one himself (more on that later). Other notables were Spotlight with six nominations and The Big Short (somewhat surprisingly in my opinion) coming in with five nominations.

Mad Max: Fury Road – New Images

This article is a little late, but it means we have plenty of stuff to show you on the Mad Max film. If you would like to know more about back stories or previous news and information please check out the article below.

Mad Max 4: Fury Road – Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and a New Car…

First off let’s talk about Charlize Theron showing off her shaved head; it’s not quite the transformation that we saw in Monster, but it shows she will give everything to a performance. In the new pic below, Theron, sports a buzz cut on the post-apocalyptic movie’s set in Namibia while cuddling Jackson, the adorable little boy she adopted earlier this year.

Next we have actual proof that it has begun production and most importantly is being filmed. With the large collection of images below which aren’t exactly revealing, but for now it will have to do.

Finally we now know that Mad Max: Fury Road will be a re-imagining of, not sequel or a prequel to, George Miller’s own 1979 cult classic with Hardy taking over the titular role made famous by Mel Gibson.

So what do you think? Do you like the idea of a retelling of the Mad Max story or do you prefer to keep the originals? Either way it is happening and I am happy to see it getting started.
