[SDCC 2020] Truth Seekers: Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Ghost Hunting Series

The Amazon horror-comedy series is about a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see. The show reunites longtime collaborators Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) and Nick Frost (Fighting with My Family), who have worked together on several terrific projects.

Frost plays Gus, one of two members of a ghost-hunting duo that uncover and film paranormal sighting across the U.K. who stakes out haunted churches, abandoned hospitals, and similar locations using homemade ghost-detecting gadgets. As the two uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the human race, their experiences grow more frequent and terrifying. But what about Simon Pegg? Well, details surrounding Pegg’s character Dave are currently unknown but the trailer might be able to shine a little light on that.

Countdown to Halloween: Michael Myers and the Messy Timeline Split

In 1978 John Carpenter and Debra Hill gave us one of the greatest indie movies of all time in Halloween. It has become a true classic, the theme music iconically representing the season, and the blank stare of the mask now synonymous with evil.

The story goes that on Halloween night, when he was only six, little Michael Myers killed his sister Judith with a butcher knife. He then spent the next 15 years institutionalized, and his parents died in a car crash, leaving behind his baby sister named Cynthia. At the age of 21, Michael escapes the hospital and returns home to murder the last remaining member of his family. The guy is thorough.

‘Silent Night’ is Coming to Town

“Garbage day!”  It’s time for the holidays, and along with them are some new cinematic releases.  Since the first time I saw Gremlins, I loved the holiday horror genre.  Combining slasher flicks with seasonal joy is the Captain in my eggnog.  When I first laid eyes on the new trailer for Silent Night, I felt literal Christmas joy.
