Marvel Enters Phase Three: The MCU Goes Infinite With Updated Film Slate

It may be part of Darth Disney’s plan to take over the world, but Marvel’s ever-expanding movie universe has taken audiences by storm (just not Johnny Storm).

Captain America: Civil War kicked off Phase Three with some impressive numbers the last two weekends, keeping the number one spot and showing that audiences are still symptom-free of what some are calling Superhero-Fatigue.

Agent Carter Takes On Hollywood, Faces New Villains

Mr. Jarvis, could you bring the car around?

From a movie spin-off to a fan favorite in its own right, Agent Carter returns for its second season this coming January. Carter (Haley Atwell), the ever loyal Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), war hero Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), and enigmatic inventor and play boy Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) have made their way to sunny California for more noir crime solving action.

Agents of SHIELD: 3.01 – Laws of Nature Review

Tuesday night the first episode of season 3 for Agents of SHIELD aired on ABC with a whole lot of stuff going on. Starting a new season can be tricky, but ABC/Marvel have got this thing down. It seems and highly anticipated season 3 premiere did not disappoint. A whole new plot has been introduced, new characters, potential villains, and of course the ongoing storyline that has been carried over from last season, all made its way into the new episode.

Season three of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC premieres Tuesday, September 29. This season will be used to further introduce the Inhumans, preparing audiences for the 2019 movie, much like how they tied into the Hydra stuff last year. Mutants Pitted Against Inhumans in Marvel’s “Extraordinary X-Men”

With the new Marvel movie lineup announced almost a year ago, it is no surprise that the popularity of the comic counterparts have gone up; specifically, Inhumans. For fans of Agents of SHIELD on ABC, the Inhumans have featured heavily in the last season, which is an obvious build up for the upcoming 2018 film version. No doubt the Inhumans are the MCU’s way of getting enhanced humans on the big screen with all the rights to the X-Men franchise under lock and key at FOX.

However, one of the qualities of comic books that remains untarnished is the endless possibilities for crossovers. Marvel has set up seemingly quite a crossover between the Inhumans and their enhanced brethren, the X-Men.

Adrianne Palicki to Lead New Agents of SHIELD Spin-Off

As if the recent flood of comic book movies wasn’t enough to prove the geeks will inherit the earth, ABC has just put in an order for Marvels Most Wanted, an Agents of SHIELD spin-off set to star Adrianne Palicki, whose character Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird) kicked major butt for SHIELD last season.
