New X-Men Apocalypse Trailer is Pretty Badass

Alright, the new trailer is here and has successfully changed my opinion on how excited I should be for X-Men: Apocalypse. After holding out a long time, trying to convince myself that it’s gonna be great, I had been left with a lack of excitement. However, this trailer really changed my mind and I am very excited to see how this all unfolds. This trailer really highlights the action sequences that are going to take place and gives a pretty good look at everyone’s powers.

NeXt-Men: 8 Spin-offs We Want To See More Than Gambit

With X-Men: Apocalypse almost upon us, and Deadpool close behind, we’ve been following the X-news pretty closely. The only other officially announced film in the Fox series so far has been Gambit, starring Channing Tatum and Lea Seydoux. Gambit is a bit of a surprising gambit (yeah, we went there) and interesting choice for a spin-off film, considering the new canon, following the events of Days of Future Past, which rewrote the timeline and pretty much erased Taylor Kitsch’s turn as the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. So we can certainly get behind bringing the fan favorite character to the big screen.

With that being said, in our eyes there are a number of characters and teams who deserve their shot on the big screen a little bit more than Remy LeBeau. While we have nothing against Gambit, there are already a number of properties that have been partially set up in the X-Men’s Cinematic Universe, including a number of characters we just want to see more of. Today we are going to take a look at a number of these potential spin-offs that we would love to see, starting with someone we hope to see in another rumored spin-off.

Adapted: 5 Classic X-Men Storylines That Would Make Great Films

With X-Men: Apocalypse hitting theaters soon, we take a look at 5 other classic storylines that would add to the X-Men film franchise.

Superhero movies have always drawn from the source material when constructing the big budget films. Aspects and characters may change in the translation, but the important pieces of the original storyline are generally always carried onto the big screen. Some of the more obvious examples are 2004’s The Punisher, which pulled heavily from Welcome Back, Frank by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.  X2: X-Men United took characters and plot from God Loves, Man Kills by Chris Claremont and Brent Anderson, and Watchmen was nearly a direct panel-by-panel adaptation of the comic, almost to a fault.

X-Men TV Series: The Hellfire Club and Legion Each to Get Show

Bring in the supervillains!

That seems to be an upcoming theme from Hollywood. You’ve the early versions of Penguin, Riddler, and Two-Face on the Gotham television series, and the government-approved and expendable Suicide Squad ready to bloody the big screen next August. And now, the folks over at Marvel want to venture onto the dark side of the super-powered fence as well.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: Bryan Singer Announces His Next Project

We’ve been covering a lot of Bryan Singer news since his triumphant return to the X-franchise with last years X-Men: Days of Future Past.

He is following that up with the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, which promises to end the current trilogy started with Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class by continuing to examine the beginning of the X-Men. So with Apocalypse nearing completion Singer wasted no time in announcing his next directing gig, which is not X-related… or is it?

Mutants Pitted Against Inhumans in Marvel’s “Extraordinary X-Men”

With the new Marvel movie lineup announced almost a year ago, it is no surprise that the popularity of the comic counterparts have gone up; specifically, Inhumans. For fans of Agents of SHIELD on ABC, the Inhumans have featured heavily in the last season, which is an obvious build up for the upcoming 2018 film version. No doubt the Inhumans are the MCU’s way of getting enhanced humans on the big screen with all the rights to the X-Men franchise under lock and key at FOX.

However, one of the qualities of comic books that remains untarnished is the endless possibilities for crossovers. Marvel has set up seemingly quite a crossover between the Inhumans and their enhanced brethren, the X-Men.
