Y: The Last Man Trailer Finally Arrives

FX has finally released an official Y: The Last Man trailer for their long-in-development series adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s popular comic book series.

Y: The Last Man traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. It follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.

So just in case you weren’t completely done with pandemics get ready for this one because Y: The Last Man might feel like outlandish escapism, but could bring about some not-so-friendly reminders of the last couple of years and our uncertain future. Hey, at least there’s a monkey named Ampersand!

The series stars Ben Schnetzer (The Book Thief), Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Man of Steel), Ashley Romans (NOS4A2), Diana Bang (The Interview), Olivia Thirlby (Dredd), Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete, The Umbrella Academy), Amber Tamblyn (Girlfriend’s Day), Tara Nicodemo (Star Trek: Discovery), Jess Salgueiro (Letterkenny, The Boys, The Expanse), and comedy staple Missi Pyle, who you should know from Galaxy Quest, but probably better recognize from Dodgeball

Based on the Vertigo/DC Comics’ acclaimed series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man was a 60-issue science fiction comic book series published beginning in 2002. It received three Eisner Awards and received the first Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story for Y: The Last Man, Volume 10.

The live-action FX production is produced by Clark, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force, along with Nellie Reed. Mari Jo Winkler-Ioffreda, Vaughan and Melina Matsoukas are executive producers.
