Amanda is amazing. Amanda is spectacular. Amanda is humble. Amanda is also a full time college student so take pity on her and don't complain when her TV reviews aren't up immediately following an episode.

Kevin Smith Wants Onomatopoeia on Arrow: I Am Not Alone!

Let’s go back in time, to a simpler era in the Arrow universe.

A time when the majority of the Queen family was still alive. When Thea was just an obnoxious high schooler (wait – did we ever see her leave high school/discuss college? She went from “teehee, I’m a rebel” to unpacking boxes at her brother’s bar.) Back in time to October of 2012 when, in an Arrow news piece, I said this:

Booster Gold Is Coming. This Is Not a Drill.

Everyone who knows me, knows of my love for Booster Gold. Those who have to listen to me often, know of my very strong desire for a Booster Gold movie or TV show. Those people are tired of hearing me talk about it.

Well too bad, so sad suckers because for right now, I am victorious.

Arrow and Flash Blow Off Steam in Superhero Fight Club

“You’re part of the club now.”

Hello! It has been quite a while since I’ve made an appearance ’round these parts. What on Earth could bring me out of semi-retirement? Well it is none other than perhaps the most fangirl worthy moment ever delivered via trailer. Featuring not only Oliver Queen’s Arrow, and not only Barry Allen’s Flash, but also their collected big bads in what they’ve deemed “Superhero Fight Club.”

The Geek Exchange Podcast 008: Game of Dudes

The Geek Exchange Podcast is back and in this episode, much like the last, we are sticking with one topic. This time it is all Game of Thrones. Amanda is busy, so Daniel Woizinski is filling in.

Season four is now over. It will be an eternity before the show returns, so let’s all come together and talk about not only the season finale, but the series as a whole. Plus a bit of a books-to-TV comparison. It should go without saying, but just in case… this episode is full of SPOILERS regarding Game of Thrones. So if you aren’t caught up with the season four finale, avoid this until you are.

The Walking Dead Promo – 4.09

Well slap butter on my ass and call me a biscuit! If “Too Far Gone” wasn’t one of the most jaw-dropping episodes of The Walking Dead to date, then I don’t know what could top it. Big name deaths, father and son reuniting… just one thing after another. Amazing.

Of course, now we have to sit back and wait until February for a new episode, but thankfully AMC did leave us with a promo to tide us over a bit until episode 9.

Well that does a lot of telling us nothing. Outside of the bit with Carl. He finally stays in the house and now there’s someone (Rick?) he can’t revive in there. Hmmmm… intrigue!

So what did you think of “Too Far Gone”? How will you fill the time between now and February 9th? Let us know down in the comments below!

X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer – Old Meets Young

The day has finally arrived in which we get our first real look at Bryan Singer’s newest incarnation of the X-Men franchise. That’s right, the X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer is here!

I’ll admit that X-Men: First Class is easily my favorite of all the films to date so I was quite excited to see James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender back as Magneto and Professor X. Of course they aren’t quite themselves, especially Professor X, as shown by the copious amounts of dust being blown off Cerebro. Well, that and Patrick Stewart saying “I was a very different man.”

The trailer seemed like it gave everyone a little bit of screen time, both returning mutants and those new to the game. If X-Men: Days of Future Past does nothing else, it will hopefully be remembered as the movie that featured actors named Bingbing and Booboo. Incidentally, they both look quite amazing as Blink and Warpath.

There was very little to quibble over with this trailer. It had direction, gave a good look at the plot of the film (for those of us who are not very familiar with the X-Men books), and was pretty in doing so. However, outside of Nixon looking nothing like Nixon, my biggest issue was the use of “Adagio in D” from Sunshine. I understand that it is a beautiful piece of music and it does fit quite well with the action of this trailer, but it is getting dangerously close to being overused. I’d much rather have heard something from John Ottman’s score.

So, are you excited for X-Men: Days of Future Past? Does this first trailer make you more excited? This is the first of many, many, many trailer and posters and photos and pretty much the deluge of material that comes along with modern film promotion, but it is nice to enjoy this moment when everything is new and fresh.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 23rd, 2014.
